Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and multi- instrumentalist Andrew Bird joins the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra (GSO) at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 7 PM, as part of his highly anticipated anniversary tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his landmark album, The Mysterious Production of Eggs.
Tickets go on sale Friday, September 26 at 10 a.m. at TangerCenter.com, greensborosymphony.org, and Ticketmaster.com.
This one-night-only Greensboro performance will feature Bird and the GSO performing The Mysterious Production of Eggs in its entirety, bringing new orchestral depth to the album’s poetic lyricism, live-looping brilliance, and signature whistling melodies. Local audiences will experience firsthand the lush new symphonic arrangements that highlight Bird’s genre-defying sound.
The concert coincides with the release of Bird’s expansive 20th Anniversary Box Set of The Mysterious Production of Eggs, available February 27, 2026 on his own Wegawam Music Co. label. The collection includes three LPs of unreleased material, demos, alternate versions, and orchestral collaborations, accompanied by a 54-page book of unseen photographs, essays, and new artwork by longtime collaborator Jay Ryan.
Originally released in 2005, The Mysterious Production of Eggs solidified Andrew Bird’s reputation as one of indie music’s most inventive voices, weaving together themes of childhood, creativity, and science with wit and wonder. Two decades later, its influence still resonates, inspiring generations of artists and listeners alike.
