Tickets for UNCSA’s 60th annual production of ‘The Nutcracker,’ on sale July 25

Tickets for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts’ (UNCSA) 60th anniversary production of “The Nutcracker,” presented by Flow Automotive, go on sale to the public on Friday, July 25 10 a.m. The beloved holiday ballet will return to the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts in Greensboro for five performances, Dec. 5–7, while the Stevens Center in Winston-Salem continues its comprehensive renovation.

To kick off the anniversary celebration, UNCSA will host a free “Nutcracker in July” event from 2–4 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 at the Tanger Center. Families are invited to enjoy costumed characters, themed activities, complimentary ice cream, and an exclusive ticket promotion. The first 60 attendees will have the opportunity to purchase prime seats for just $60 in honor of the 60th anniversary.

“The Nutcracker” has been a treasured holiday tradition for generations of North Carolinians, showcasing the extraordinary talents of UNCSA’s student dancers, musicians, designers, and technicians.

“We’re thrilled to continue the beloved UNCSA tradition of ‘The Nutcracker’ at the Tanger Center this year,” said Endalyn T. Outlaw, dean of the School of Dance. “It’s a privilege to provide our students with the opportunity to perform in such a spectacular venue while delighting loyal patrons from Winston-Salem, welcoming back Greensboro patrons, and engaging new audiences from the Piedmont Triad area and beyond. We look forward to raising the curtain on opening night, December 5.”

This year, performances will take place on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. (opening night); Saturday, Dec. 6, at noon and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 1 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at TangerCenter.com.
