The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra (GSO) is excited to share details of its first full Tanger Outlets Masterworks and POPS Seasons at the new Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts! The 2022-2023 Season also marks Maestro Dmitry Sitkovetsky's final season with the GSO. Sitkovetsky, who has served as the GSO Music Director since 2003, announced his upcoming retirement at a recent GSO Board Meeting.

The 2022-2023 Masterworks Series will offer the best of classical music with renowned guest artist talent joining the GSO for six extraordinary concerts. Highlights include an opening in October 2022 with acclaimed pianist Michelle Cann on a program featuring the work of Florence Price and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Other programs include Prokofiev's Sinfonia Concertante for Cello with Sergey Antonov; Beethoven's Violin Concerto with James Ehnes; Brahms' German Requiem with the GSO Master Chorale; and Trio Zimbalist with Beethoven's Triple Concerto and Wynton Marsalis' new Trumpet Concerto. The Series concludes in May 2023 with Maestro Sitkovetsky's closing performance featuring Grammy Award-winner Branford Marsalis and Glazunov's Saxophone Concerto.

The 2022-2023 POPS Series will open during Hispanic Heritage Month with conductor Michelle Merrill and the dashing 12-piece mariachi band Mariachi Cobre, straight from Walt Disney World's EPCOT! In November 2022, Michael Feinstein will salute and celebrate the great Judy Garland on her 100th birthday with a concert produced by her daughter, Liza Minelli. Additional POPS highlights include the Kruger Brothers on New Year's Eve, John Pizzarelli and Catherine Russell paying homage to Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday in February 2023, and the one and only Ben Folds in April.

In 2022-2023, the GSO's Rice Toyota Sitkovetsky and Friends Chamber Series will continue to offer some of North Carolina's finest chamber music, promising an extraordinary season featuring Masterworks guest artists, GSO musicians, and Maestro Dmitry Sitkovetsky in a more intimate setting.

Masterworks and POPS Season renewals have already begun and Chamber renewals start in June.
