Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan coming to Tanger Center

On April 29, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will bring his mesmerizing live show and infectious charm to the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts.

Having emerged out of a family that possesses a strong influence in the South Asian musical tradition, this international superstar and Bollywood soundtrack favorite has carved out a prosperous career singing Qawwali, Bollywood and OSTs. Fated to study a career in music, the performer has now become a pioneer in the music industry.

Grandson to Qawwali legend Fateh Ali Khan, this humble performer was selected at birth by his uncle to be tutored in the traditional genre of music. He began his formal training at just 7 years old before becoming a significant member of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Qawwali group.

During the 90s he developed a career as a playback singer in Bollywood films but it was as a solo singer that he made his name.
